Body Shops' Shimmer Cubes have been around for a while now and come in a handful of shades. The only one I own is the 'warm' palette, which contains four stunning shimmery shades of bronze/ gold/ browns.
If I feel like giving my every day shadow a bit of a lift with some glitter (perfect for a day to night look) or if I simply feel like some shimmer, I reach for this palette to create a simple but very pretty bronze smokey eye; here's the look.Using the four shades it's easy to create a colour gradient, perfect for a smokey eye look. With the colours numbered as;
1 - Honeycomb: A deep, dense gold/bronze packed with glitter
2 - Marshmallow: A softer pale gold, with an almost silver 'highlight' in the colour.
3 - Choc chip: A gorgeous brown, with flecks of gold shimmer
4 - Dark chocolate: The darkest brown/ bronze, very densely packed with glitter, perfect for shadowing the corner of the eye.I can tell you now, I have had these for roughly 6 months now, and as you can see, there's hardly a dent in them.
I love that these shadows are not overly shimmery, with a nice amount to make your makeup feel a little more 'party' but not like a glitter ball!
My only gripe with these would be that they take quite a bit of packing on the product for the colours to really jump out on the lid and I almost lost interest in them altogether after finding them almost invisible, though this was most likely due to harsh lighting (beware of that muting the colours of these) Having said all that, once enough product is on, they look gorgeous together and they blend beautifully and easily. For a product I stumbled upon almost accidentally they have proven to be one of my favourites.
They create a subtle but very effective look, with colours which look stunning with so many skin tones. With my red hair, these bronzes and browns just really hit off each other and work so well.What do you think of a bronze smokey eye look? Or do you have another favourite look with any of the Body Shop's Shimmer Cube palettes?
